I found a cocoon in winter and kept it outside in my garage, I made sure to mist cage daily and cage is huge, I had just released a male yesterday and he formed perfectly. So now I have a flightless female, but she climbs fine and can reproduce.

I want to release her directly onto a good host tree, all she has to do is mate then she can climb around the tree and lay eggs on the branches.

For New York, are Oak good, I have plenty of huge Oak trees around.

I released her on the oak tree, almost immediately she started laying infertile eggs. I know males are around, is it possible one will find her and mate, fertilizing the remaining eggs inside?
