Are you sure that's a Filipino centipede? It looks very much like Scolopendra polymorpha.

What makes you sure it's a Sc.subspinipes :? ?

@crixalis
could you have a look at the ventral side of prefemurs of its terminal legs ?
do they show a lot of spines or just a few (2 - 3)

Well having some specimens exactly like that from that region and taking in consideration they are grown up to 17-19 cm right now i can only assume subspinipes..
Polymorpha would not get that big..

That is my opinion, i know you are much better in IDing than me, so if you have any other opinion, well you ll help me too :p

Sc.polymorpha and Sc.alternans still aren't azian specie as far as i know
;)

there's something with the terminal legs that would make my 1st guess
Scolopendra morsitans, but need more detailed pix to be sure.

thats why i said not polymorpha (in case there was somehting wrong with the place the pede was collected)

as for morsitans , do morsitans get that big? :confused:

like my gf sometimes have their monthly P,.you know.. not in the mood?..
that they can bite you,..

what is the cause of the venom of this specie?..

If you can,
some details from the last legs (terminal legs), the ones pointing backwards that are longer then the other ;) , if possible from the underside,
that should make out they are subspinipes or not.

@SAn
I had a Sc.morsitans from the Philipines that was aprox 15 cm
quite a massive one, wasn't the same colorvar. though as above
lighter colored and wider black bandings, still feel sorry i don't have it anymore.
