Phormictopus cancerides and Phormictopus auratus difference

Don't know if you figured it out already because this was a few months old, but I'm 100% sure you don't have a Phormictopus cancerides. I have both Phormictopus auratus and Phormictopus cancerides slings. Phormictopus cancerides is a metallic dark blue color as a sling. You were most likely sold a Phormictopus auratus sling because yours is a brownish color like how a Phormictopus auratus sling ought to look. If your sling has gotten large enough to display the bronze carapace, then it is pretty solid that you have a Phormictopus auratus and not some other species of Phormictopus.

I noticed between the two, my P. cancerides are a whole lot more aggressive and food driven.

The P. auratus is a sweet spider, my young female is never hair kicking or defensive. I trust her more than some of my Brachyphemlpa.
