Here's Onyx, my Grammostola pulchra. It molted on 6/16 and is still working on darkening back up - right now it's more like a Brazilian brown than a Brazilian black. The fangs are black and she's ready to eat, though, so dinner is served.

I was certain that I'd found spermathecae in a previous molt, but this most recent one makes me second guess that - I may have seen male accessory organs instead. It's approaching 4" DLS, so for now I'll say suspect female, but time will tell...

I'm trying to figure out how to do focus stacking and focus bracketing, so these were some experimental pics. Hopefully I'll get better at it...

Also, some bonus jumper pics:

How’s your growth rate with h pulchripes I had mine for about six months and it’s only 1/2 inch with low 70s. Now that summer coming I’m hoping to have a bit more molts but it gets really cold here in New York
It isn't a super fast grower, but sounds like maybe it's growing faster than yours. I got it at about 1/2" in December, it's molted twice, and it's about 1.25" now. I keep my T room heated to around 76, sometimes it gets up to 80 in the summer, which I'm sure helps.

0.0.1 Phormingochilus everetti - Jupiter (06.28.22) - this one is so skittish that the only way I can get a pic of it is sneaking up on it with a flashlight and shooting through the enclosure, hence the poor quality...

Dang, it's been 6 months since I updated this?! Didn't seem like that long. Here are some pics that I've posted to media in the meantime...

And a few new ones...

0.0.1 Poecilotheria vittata 2.25" DLS
P1010003.JPG

0.0.1 Phormictopus atrichomatus 2" DLS
PC270006.JPG

1.0 Xenesthis immanis 4.5" DLS, doing some post-molt grooming
PB120037.JPG

I'll try to keep this thread updated better than I have been lately!

What new and spicy breeding projects do you have planned?

Nothing currently in the works, and nothing particularly spicy in general. Next ones will likely be P. victori and Aphonopelma moderatum, but they won't be ready until the summer at the earliest. I'll likely have males of Phormingochilus everetti, Psalmopoeus reduncus, Harpactira baviana, and that H. sp. Bach ma ready to go sooner, so I'll have to decide if I am going to loan them out or get mature females for them.

Keep me in the loop! I’m a sucker for OW and arboreals. Or anything that isn’t an avid hair kicker lol

Here are some more pics of my little jumper (Phidippus audax). Don't know if it's male or female yet, but it's so damn cute!

And a bonus shot of Gemma, adult female Euthycaelus colonica, peeking out of her burrow. I'm always amazed that she can actually fit through that hole because it's about half as wide as she is.

She gave me a full body shot, too! It is a special day, indeed.

Here's a shot of my male X. immanis smashing a couple crickets. This guy is an 8-legged eating machine...
