just recieved an 8 i T. blondi from jesters_pipe and it is awsome, it was a two day trip and its only like 15 degrese here, and she was great, awsome packaging, beautiful tarantula, i just put her in her new enclosure and gave her a b. giganteus and she went right after it, i didnt think she would eat 30 seconds after putting her in a new tank, but she gobbled it right up, has any body else seen a blondi take to food after a traumatizing trip? are they just like that? she doesnt even seem affected!

This thread is worthless without pictures.

"i didnt think she would eat 30 seconds after putting her in a new tank"

Pictures or it dident happen ;P hehe

Really nice Blondi u got there Joshuai :)
This is also my farvorite spider...dont really know why.
There is just something about them.
It might be because the get so damn big and eats all the time.

Anyway...do u know how it got the legs messed up??
It dosent look good, but its seems 2 do just fine and thats what matters.

no im not sure, is it the little bald patches on her tarsus ur metatarsus or whatever ur talking about? if not what do you mean messed up . i think she was wildcaut because i saw pics of her before last molt and she was rough

Im not into what the segments of the legs are called.
And i dont wonna look it up :D
But i think u know what i im talking about.
Its the bald spots / wounds on her front legs!

My guees would also be that it is wild caught.
Because i could easely imagine a nobrainer running around collecting spiders even if he is a little affraid of them.
That would explain the wounds on the legs.
Because many would just lure the spider out of its hide and then smashing some kind of cup or box down upen it.
And if u are not careful, the legs could easely get caught outside the box.

So sad...but it might be just fine in the next molt.

Good luck
