Two lovely little female southern tree dwelling funnel webs arrived earlier today. Rehousing was fun, you know how usually you can get a spider to enter a new enclosure just by gently coaxing it in? Yeah apparently that doesn’t work with these guys, or at least with the first the second was smaller and less defensive. I’m talking striking, threatposing so hard she’s falling on her back, etc. Anyway, I eventually I just sort of had to close the container around her while she was threat posing. Will post better pics and probably some videos later

Fed the larger of the two for the first time today, smaller one hasn’t yet found food but moulded some time since I last checked on them. Won’t be able to get more pics until I get back from broome E62C3C2F-5795-446A-8E7C-C65A09407137.jpeg
Edit: you’ll also notice that they completely ignored the chambers I made specially for them in the wood and they made burrows and web curtains
