while going through things one more time before taking off on vacation, I did my usual bi-weekly U. mordax hunt. I have 6 adult U. mordax in a large 30g breeder tank. I did have about 30 of them in there at one time, but they're now with other people.
The first rock I lifted and here's what I found:
Mom with scorplings making what appears to be their first big exodus away from mom. Talk about timing...
I shooed mom away and removed the molts from her back when i was done...
and setup all the 2nd instar scorplings into a spare kritter keeper
Final count in the Kritter Keeper is 20 scorplings
I accidently smashed one with my thumb while turning over the rock
and appeared to have had one that didn't survive their first molt
so her total birthcount appears to be 22
thats A LOT of scorplings for a scorpion thats only about 45mm long
