I'm going to be out of state for a week and a half and was wondering what to do with my isopod colonies and desert beetles (death feigning, darkling, and ironclad) ?

I can’t comment on your desert beetles, but when I travel for that long, I just make sure that the isopods’ substrate is nicely hydrated (not soaked of course), and that there is plenty of leaf litter available. They do just fine. :)

I keep mine in plastic boxes I take with me whenever I'm gone for a week or longer. Maybe I'm too dedictated...

Desert beetles will be fine. You can toss in some extra food before you go if you want, but even then they shouldn't have any problems. They're desert dwellers, so they're super hardy.
