I've had HA just as fat as that but they didn't turn out to be gravid. But none of the ones in my experience has that visible yellow blotches as seen in your pictures. There is a good possibility those could be embryos. Nice pics btw
Could easily be gravid. Looks like it is trying to burrow in that pic, and this species give birth in their burrows, so I hope your substrate is compacted enough to allow digging .
Looks like it is just fat...I don't see any sign of embryos through the pleural membrane. H.spadix, like H.arizonensis are cricket hogs with very low metabolisms and will typically get fat when kept in captivity. My H.a. is slightly fat and I only feed it two medium-sized crickets each week...It doesn't always eat them at that. Very low metabolisms...even for a desert species.
