i found this spider on my door step in southern california and was wondering sp it is? it has 3 red dots on top of the abdomen and the red hourglass on the bottom of the abdomen with brown and black striped legs

Most likely it is a Lactrodectus geometricus, Brown widow. I'm in southern California too, and my back and front yard is riddled with them.

idk? looking at google images is doesnt really look similar besides the legs.. hmm maybe it has a few more molts before it gets adult coloration? anybody else?

I'm going to go with juvenile Brown Widow. However, it looks emaciated. It needs some food!

I agree with a brown widow in pretty bad condition.

yep. geos are pretty variable when it comes to color, so that's not always the best way to judge.
