Heat mat for Opistophtalmus glabifrons

I have a female O. glabifrons in a 12"X12"X12" enclosure and I would like to warm it up with a 11"X11" heating mat. Where should I put the mat to avoid damage to the scorpion and what temperatures they can withstand?

They like to burrow if they have enough substrate.

The heatmat should go on the side (not underneath). And like Hellblazer has said, this scorpion likes to burrow and they can build quite elaborate burrows if given enough room and substrate to burrow into.
