Is anyone else's fuzzy ones shedding like mad?

I mean it is Spring and such but this is insane- my carpeting looks like a 60s shag rug reincarnate. And the skunk especially...he looks a bout ten pounds thinner!

Ugh, two of my three bunnies are having a shed-athon. They seem impervious to the crazy Kansas weather fluctuations we're having. I may end up making a pillow or two. :D

Funny, I never thought about skunks shedding! What is their fur texture like?

Actually a lot more coarse than people think. I'd say somewhere along the lines of...hmmm... like a horses mane, probably a little softer.

So basically, my house is black and white :p

5 cats and a dog.

our air purifier is facing the cat condo in the window, and it's getting repeatedly clogged with fur.

our comforter looks like a nest.

I have two cats and normally there are tufts of fur all over the house. But since I bought one of these http://www.furminator.com/ there are no tufts of hair anywhere. Of course there is hair in their beds or on furniture if they sleeep on it, but it has really reduced the shedding.

Thank you for that, Lorkagor! I'm excited that the small ones are recommended for rabbits. I'll probably get one. :)

Your welcome, hope it works.:) I think the small one is the one we have. They are a little on the pricey side ($46 canadian for the small one) but they work great.

That's why I have Bichons! As for the cats, I haven't seen any difference here. Just depends on the material they sit on. Did I mention I have lots of leather and wood?
The deshedding combs sure do take a lot of hair off, but I didn't find it much more effective than a less expensive flea comb.

well, with my zoo (especially the rabbits- one french angora, and three lionheads, the one in my avatar being the least fuzzy), shedding is constant, year round.
invest in a good vacuum, and if you have long-furred critters, learn to spin fiber!

My dog is a fox/rat terrier mix and sheds a lot all year, his short, pig type hair sticks in everything.

My bird has been moulting, too. Does that count? (I know it isn't fur, but it does create a feathery mess on the floor...)

My BLACK cat loves my WHITE comforter. Well, now it's grey. I could make an entirely new one with the black fur I have seen in the last two weeks!

I have nothing to add except to point out that everytime I see the thread title, it makes me think of spam that a keeper of reptiles and other exotics might receive......
