Adult male blues get a blueish color to them. My male giant didnt hibernate and he has been sexually mature for a few months, but I dont consider them adults until they are 2-3 years old.

I asume they reach their full size by then too?

Full length by 2-3 years on average, but they will get heavier till about 5 years.

Beautiful Tegu! These lizards makes great pets, but I'm not into lizards enough to own one.
