Thanks for the post. I did add more subtrate so a "potential" fall doesn't hurt him. He hasnt been climbing at all since his first night or 2. I think I have a nice set up. I can work on removing the mesh lid to acrylic, just dont know how.

A quick and easy fix while you are working on getting a new lid would just be to stick some tape where your T can reach. I did that myself back in the days when I had the same mistake. With the T's claws unable to gain purchase on the slick tape, she was unable to get on the lid, hence reducing a fall or amputation risk.
