I just picked up a tank 30" length by 12" width. I have a male Lasiodora Parahybana who is not fully grown yet but getting there and I'm hoping the tank will be big enough for the rest of his life. I'm just worried if the 12" is a little narrow? Also side question, I used top soil for his current enclosure and want to switch to coco fiber. Will this affect how long it takes him to get used to his new home?

Thats overkill. lp's dont get as large as advertised and if they did, that is still more than large enough

Switching substrate should be fine, though i am puzzled why you want to switch. i much prefer topsoil to coco fiber but hey, that's just me i guess.
PS. i'm guessing you're going to need like 3 or 4 bricks to fill a tank that size.
