After two months, my dubia colony has started to breed! I went in to take out feeders and I saw lots of (probably 50) little babies. Many of them were huddled around one of the big females. I was really worried they weren't going to start but it was only a matter of patience. I started off with 17 females, 9 males, and a couple hundred mixed nymphs. I was only feeding tarantulas during this time so I didn't put a huge dent in what I bought as the start up (and I never fed off females). They've been on a heat pad but my room is still awfully cold. I'd say the tub really only gets to about 80 degrees in the center and maybe 95 on the very bottom. If you're starting a roach colony, don't be discouraged! It can take a bit of time.

I just unplugged my heat pad. I have more roaches than I know what to do with!

Definitely take some time to get started but by the time your first generation gets breeding it really starts multiplying.
