In riverside, there is an awesome lionhead breeder, Dana Cole. Her bunnies are terrific, and she's really nice. I got my Lucy from her (not the bun in my avatar, he's a goofy mutt), and she is a great bunny. I plan on getting more from her when I get my own place and can start breeding rabbits for show.

If she doesn't have what you are looking for listed on the site, email her and ask anyways... Lucy wasn't listed on the site yet when I got her, I emailed Dana and told her what I was looking for, and she replied with a description of Lucy, and it was a perfect match.

Your best bet may be just to go to a rabbit show. Some breeders have stock for sale at them, but, generally they are conformation trials. That's a good way to meet someone breeding quality purebreds and usually they're the same price as pet store bunnies..
You're in luck, California's show season is just kicking off for winter..

Rabbit shows, contact your local 4H office and ask who breeds rabbits, vet office bulletin boards to name a few. And as much as I hate pet stores, our pet stores here carry most fancy breeds of rabbits every now and then and they're locally bred.
