A friend of mine was given a Psalmopeous pulcher about a year ago by someone giving up the hobby. He's new to tarantulas and so I gave him some tips on how to keep it and so on.

He emailed me today concerned that after all this time it still doesn't seem interested in it's tree hide and has never really settled in. So I asked him for some pictures.

Well here's his P.pulcher. I wonder why it's been struggling to adapt to arboreal life?!

Cause it's not a Psalmopoeus pulcher. It's not a Psalmopoeus at all.

Pics are not that good but it looks like a Phormictopus sp. to me.

Not a Psalmopoeus

Lol, it's not a psalmopoeus, all species in that genus can't flick hairs from their abdomen, plus it doesn't really have the shape of an arboreal.
