I recently paired euathlus sp red and the feisty little girl barely managed to take the very tip of his pedipalp, so the hooks gone  I have another female for the guy but I'm not to sure I wanna try to risk his life if one palp won't get it done.

From what I've read in here, he can get the job done even if he only has one pedipalp.

I've seen wild spiders mate with just one palp so I would assume if his bulb on his other palp is functional and he is loaded up, he should be able to do the job.

Not much different than a mammal with one testicle...as long as its functional, reproduction should not be a problem.

I have a MF Avic avic that I strongly suspect to be gravid....she was mated with a male with a single palp and he got the job done just fine as I watched the spider porn unfold under a flashlight in my bathroom.

ummm.. interesting choice of vocab. But yes, one palp should work
but maybe, you should use the healthy male just in case???

You paired them a second time, right?

What's unhealthy about having one palp? Especially if they're bred twice? That works out to be the same amount of sperm. Sperm is tiny, doesn't take a lot to fertilize eggs.

Yes it'll do. My Heterothele villosella was mated with a male with one palp. She layed a nice sac with a lot of babies:cool:

Yes it will. The guy on here who has bred sp Red told me they are a good one to breed, but the females tend to be a bit aggressive towards the males as you've learned, which goes against their normal behavior of this super docile locality. Otherwise he said they are easy.

What size were both Ts?

I paired them up and YUUUUP!!!! He tried using his missing pedipalp poor little guy but the other sure was working, just hope he had extra sperm in the one palp for the whole sac! He's 2.5" & she's 3"

I don' really know that much about invert reproduction with regards to sperm count but I think most, if not all animals produce a LOT more sperm then necessary to reproduce. I'm willing to bet that there is plenty of sperm in the one palp, the sperm from the other palp is just gravy. If I'm wrong about this then please, someone with more experience or maybe an education in reproductive science weigh in. :)
