Does anyone else know any songs about tarantulas? My personal favoriate is by The Aquabats "Tarantula"

Marianne was a good girl
The daughter of Professor Jones
One fateful day during a walk through the jungle
She fell into the catacombes
Now it's dark and damp
And she's without a lamp
Will the Professor hear his daughter's cry?
Little does he know she's fallen into the pit
Of the beast with sixteen eyes

Professor Jones
He did not know
Professor Jones
He did not know
Where was his daughter?
Where did she go?
She's fallen to the beast of the webby hole
Tarantula! Tarantula! Tarantula! Tarantula! Tarantula!

With giant fangs
And eight hairy legs
The monster lives in an underground maze
Beneath the carpet of the Amazon jungle
It lies and waits for helpless prey
Now Professor Jones
Knew the legend of the monster
He found the mouth of the webby hole
Armed to the teeth he ventured forth
If he'd live or die he did not know

Professor Jones
He did not know
Professor Jones
He did not know
Where was his daughter?
Where did she go?
She's fallen to the beast of the webby hole
Tarantula! Tarantula! Tarantula! Tarantula! Tarantula!

Tarantula, Tarantula, Tarantula...

he's got butt hands

Great song. if you don't have it i would recomend it. Put it in your T room on loop!

"Tuck Me In" by Alkaline Trio makes reference in one verse:

"Tuck me in with the tarantulas, I want to let them in my mouth and down my throat to lay their eggs".

Lullaby by The Cure. Not about tarantulas per se, but it mentions spiders!

Spider Bite by Jerry Cantrell

Lyrics:

Caine
Caine

What was your name? Damn glad to meet ya
Never been to your place, but I know it
Twitching embrace, show me the spider
Try to disappear, back crack in the sofa

Caine
Caine
Caine

Slow poison working inside
Descending in shadow, cocoon me then bite
Caine spider give to me pain
Got a caterpillar body and a butterfly brain

Caine
Caine

What day is today? Don't I know you?
19 and bold, bitten in Houston
Out to the car, picked up a spider
Anesthetize your face, loser beside ya

Slow poison working inside
Descending in shadow, cocoon me then bite
Caine spider give to me pain
Got a caterpillar body and a butterfly brain

Spun monkeys on the railroad track
Take me to the caine field
I walk along pick my spiderbite

My old man wonders where I'm at
I'm still a child, guess I keep trying to pay him back

Arrogance stains, threading your silk tomb
Steady she drain, spider digest you

Slow poison working inside
Descending in shadow, cocoon me then bite
Caine spider give to me pain
Got a caterpillar body and a butterfly brain

Not about tarantulas but a redback, and by far the funnyest song ever made.

Redback on the toilet seat by Slim Newton

There was a redback on the toilet seat
When I was there last night.
I didn't see him in the dark,
But boy I felt his bite.

I jumped high up into the air
And when I hit the ground,
That crafty redback spider
Wasn't nowhere to be found.

I rushed into the missus,
Told her just where I'd been bit.
She grabbed a cut-throat razor-blade
And I nearly took a fit.

I said, "Just forget what's on your mind
And call a doctor please,
'Cause I got a feeling that your cure
Is worse than the disease."

There was a redback on the toilet seat
When I was there last night.
I didn't see him in the dark,
But boy I felt his bite.

And now I'm here in hospital
A sad and sorry sight,
And I curse the redback spider
On the toilet seat last night.

I can't lie down, I can't sit up
And I don't know what to do,
And all the nurses think it's funny
But that's not my point of view.

I tell you its embarassing,
And that's to say the least,
That I'm too sick to eat a bit
While that spider had a feast.

And when I get back home again
I tell you what I'll do,
I'll make that redback suffer
For the pain I'm going through.

I've had so many needles
That I'm looking like a sieve,
And I promise you that spider
Hasn't very long to live.

There was a redback on the toilet seat
When I was there last night.
I didn't see him in the dark,
But boy I felt his bite.

But now I'm here in hospital
A sad and sorry sight,
And I curse the redback spider
On the toilet seat last night.

Regards Mikael

Here is lyrics from The Who. {D

Look, he's crawling up my wall
Black and hairy, very small
Now he's up above my head
Hanging by a little thread

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

Now he's dropped on to the floor
Heading for the bedroom door
Maybe he's as scared as me
Where's he gone now, I can't see

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly

There he is wrapped in a ball
Doesn't seem to move at all
Perhaps he's dead, I'll just make sure
Pick this book up off the floor

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly

He's come to a sticky end
Don't think he will ever mend
Never more will he crawl 'round
He's embedded in the ground

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

"The Itsy Bitsy Spider ran up the water spout, down came the rain and it washed the spider out!"

Why go modern! School time songs for the win ;P

I'm only 23 and i listen to music ranging from the 1930's to the present. I am quite an eclectic musician. Every little influence helps.

Best song not about a tarantula is Boris the Spider by The Who. Second up is My Crystal Spider by some 60's group called Sweetwater:

Have you seen my crystal spider?
He has eyes of mercury
He has left his web of paisley
Be aware if you care
Would you please
Send him back to me

Have you heard my crystal spider
As he cries his mystery
He belongs with those who love him
Be aware if you care
Would you please
Send him back to me

And Lullaby by The Cure:

on candystripe legs the spiderman comes
softly through the shadow of the evening sun
stealing past the windows of the blissfully dead
looking for the victim shivering in bed
searching out fear in the gathering gloom and
suddenly!
a movement in the corner of the room!
and there is nothing i can do
when i realize with fright
that the spiderman is having me for dinner tonight!

quietly he laughs and shaking his head
creeps closer now
closer to the foot of the bed
and softer than shadow and quicker than flies
his arms are all around me and his tongue in my eyes
"be still be calm be quiet now my precious boy
don't struggle like that or i will only love you more
for it's much too late to get away or turn on the light
the spiderman is having you for dinner tonight"

and i feel like i'm being eaten
by a thousand million shivering furry holes
and i know that in the morning i will wake up
in the shivering cold

and the spiderman is always hungry...

There's also Tarantula as covered by This Mortal Coil. I liked it back in my moping goth days... Clove cigarettes, black lace, leather combats and a frown... I was hot stuff.
