WHAT?!?! Nobody even said a B. Albopilosum? I would figure they would top the list as a must have staple, along with a B. Vagans!

if you admire spiders that appear to be burrowed in so well they could survive an atomic war, get an A seemani.. Very easy to find, and a lovely spider. It has a long premolt phase so it may vanish for a month or three. Its not just what spider is the staple, you should get one that syncs with your personality as well. I like all the paranoid skittish species ;-)

Why no campestratus as well?
Is it a bit nasty compare to chaco?
Not usually. Mine certainly isn't. I have a 4 1/2 inch female who is an angel. She is beautiful, sweet, and calm enough to be handled.

My list:
GBB (for the colors)
T. blondi (for the size, impressive eating, and attitude)
B. smithi (classic)
Any Avicularia
G. pulchra (beautiful, classic, docile)
G. rosea (I'm a big rosie fan)
A. chalcodes (on my want list)

BEARO is right, every hobbyist should at least have a T.blondi.
Aside from that, B.smithi, A.versicolor and A. genic

There is no such thing as a "Basic Must Have". Just keep the species that interest you.

Depends on what your looking for in a T. Color.........size.........color/size...aggressiveness.........calmness......... it is up to you. You can see by the reply's what others think. So go find a site and read up on what species you think you want. Good luck in with whatever you choose!!
