Can anyone tell me what the sp. stands for in the scientific name of my Flagstaff Orange.........

    Thanks, Jim

  2. I do believe they are a un specified class within the Aphonopelma genus. I remember reading in several placed they were not yet described within the Aphonopelma genus.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it just means "species." As in "it's an Aphonopelma species but nobody's named the thing yet." :)

  5. Aphonopelma spp. means several species of Aphonopelma. Aphonopelma sp. means this individual is one of some specie of Aphonopelma.
Aphonopelma sp. Flagstaff Orange means its an individual of the Aphonopelma genus, undescribed or unknown species name with the common name or location name and descriptor of Flagstaff Orange.
