Euathlus sp Red, nice looking, small, super docile and inquisitive enough that they'll wander out of their own accord onto you - I never actually "take" mine out to handle, but whenever I'm in the tank she wanders up and either touches my hand then backs off or climbs straight out onto it.
Got my C ritae sling for GBP £10 a couple of months back. So far it's been a doddle to keep, webbed up like crazy - which it sits perched on top of. As others noted it is skittish and fast off the mark, I had a bit of a time last night chasing it around the bench when it decided to make a run...
I've got a T with a big print of a P regalis on the front, surprisingly nothing's been said about it - though I've not worn it at work since one of my team is a major 'phobe. I've also got a wool scarf that my wife made which has T's knitted into the pattern:
Big RC spid from my wife and a long scarf that she made - pic's don't do the scarf justice, it's ace (my fave prezzy!) :)
I already had T's before the weather got bad, but I got craft kits to make fuzzy toy's, 2 mugs - one cartoon and jokey and one with a regalis. T-shirt with a P rufilata.
"All of our employee's are specifically trained, to the highest standard, for the departments they work in"
I still love that one.
From the same place that takes peoples names, addresses, ages/ID's for an aquarium fish and then asks "so are you going straight home?" - like anyone would say "Ohh...
+1 on the Euathlus sp red/yellow. I've got 2 of the red's now and they're brilliant little T's.
I've got a C. ritae but it's a tiny sling so can't comment other than that for it's size, it's one heck of an amazing little webber and a good looking spiderling.
I'm lucky, my wife finds them fascinating and beautiful, but she's very much a creature person anyway, she's also a terrible enabler!
Humans on the other hand she's not so keen on and barely tolerates :D
I can see a triple set on amazon.com, but it doesn't include the Tarantula's disc if you search on just "Worlds most dangerous animals", so they're probably out there somewhere, there weren't that many sellers with it over here mind.
Our telephone makes a sort of half ring just before it rings fully when someone calls and then rings fully - our Budgie mimics both sounds perfectly, including the timing of the pause between the partial and full ringing.
It also copies the specific whistle I use for one of the two Border...
My 6 Lp's are molting regularly, still very small at the moment though. I've got one that's dug a burrow, the others stay on top. They're all in little deli-cups.
With any of my quicker slings I just open the tubs inside a larger box to slow them down a bit if they make a bolt for it, only ever...
Today is a good day, my P. regalis molted again - 2nd time since I got it in september, touching 4.5" now :) But also my Avic 'Guyana' that I got at the same time has been webbed up for quite some time and looking in this morning it was on it's back, this evening I can see a mass of legs, just...
Novembers a slow month for T's, TSS have said they're expecting a bunch of stock though in the next couple of weeks - no idea's what but I think they've had some delays with stuff. Martin at BugzUK always has really nice condition T's. I've never bought from Virginiacheeseman so far though...
Each morning I come downstairs and do a quick visual over mine, still sleepy eyed, half dressed and before I've even been for a pee. Get in from work and have another quick check... have dinner then go through checking water/feeding/maintenance as needed and of course holding conversations with...
No bite experience (yet) so can't comment.
As for "leave me alone" threats, I *would* have said my OBT, but in all fairness it only stands its ground some of the time, the rest it bolts into it's webbed up plant-pot.
The one who really puts on a show is my juvenile A. geniculata, that one has...
