Is Hot Glue Safe for my sling?

I have never had any problems with hot glue...... usually the fumes are gone in 20 minutes or so. I agree tho.... I doubt the slings like crawling on dried hot glue. I have another solution for "waterproofing" your sticks..... Use silicone. I use the same stuff as i do for my backdrops (...

I just got a B. smithi baby about a month ago ( 1/4" ). I have been having luck feeding it with super small dubias. They are definately bigger than its abdomen, but about the smallest i can find besides those mini meal worms..( which i have tried, but none of my slings seem to eat them ). I...

    Vermiculite/Perlite

+1 Not even CLOSE to the same thing. PERLITE is the little white pellets, and vermiculite is kinda a sandy soil....... not sure else how to describe it. I use SMALL amounts of BOTH in my T enclosures..... Perilite if I want more airflow through the substrate to help it dry faster, and...

Good idea.... I just put my bark pieces in the freezer for a couple of days to kill parasites or any other bugs. As for the mold, im not sure if the freezer takes care of that or not. I try to pick out pieces that are not touching the ground, and do not APPEAR to have any mold on them.

When I make my real bark hides, I use the same method as when i make my backdrops. Take your hide, and coat the bottom with brown silicone ( just the part that will be under the substrate ) then cover the silicone with dry ecoearth. Then let it dry and cure for AT LEAST 48 hours( i usually...

From what I understand, you check for a "slit" in between the first set of booklungs. If there is a slit, its female. Also, from what i understand, the first set of booklungs on a male will be closer together than on a female.

    Know whats really annoying?

This is an interesting thread..... I just have to put in my two cents.... #1 - There are circumstances where you can "exterminate" a human if they come into your house uninvited..... armed burglars.... From what i understand, if an armed burglar breaks into your house, and you fear for your...

    Keeping wild spiders.

I really don't know much about grass spiders...... With my audax though, I made a custom all acrylic enclosure with a front opening door and a custom robc style backdrop. It is 12 x 12 x 12. I think that is around 3 -4 gallons. That is probably considered too large for such a small spider...

    Keeping wild spiders.

I suggest a Phiddipus audax. I caught mine in my kitchen about 7 months ago. I built it a nice terrarium, and it thrives in there. It is gorgeous, roams around all of the time, and is a cricket hunting machine!!!! I THINK you can find them around there...... they're pretty prevalent all over...
