Hey everyone! It’s been a loooong time, I joined this community in 2009. After some time I became inactive, and once I no longer owned any arachnids I stopped hopping on all together. I’m excited to be back and around link minded people, I will be getting another T soon! And fingers crossed, a...
I am definitely not the creator of that lol. I haven't even made my youtube account linked to that google stuff so I'm not able to do anything but watch videos right now. I knew most of that stuff was inaccurate but I was looking for a secons opinion, thanks you all! And to think how many people...
I happened to come across this video just a few minutes ago. It seems interesting, but I haven't been as keen with my spider research as I was a few years back since I'm broadening my pets to include reptiles lately. Is this video accurate to any of you? Very nice choice of music too (: I'm also...
Thank goodness haha. I wasn't sure about her specific species since I never did look into it, thanks for that. naturalsciences.org states there will be about 20-60 babies coming from each sac so that's a good thing. I'll let her go today before she puts down her third one and get the sacs into...
Oh my goodness. I caught a beautiful brown female praying mantis and decided to keep her for a few days to show my mom who absolutely loves them. Little did I know she wasn't stuffed from food, she was huge because she was pregnant! About a day of being in the cage she put down an egg sac on the...
Hey guys. I'll be going to college next year (maybe aug. 2013 or jan. 2014) but I have a problem.
I have a dog, a cat, two T's, a gecko, and a bird. My dad will watch my dog and cat but I don't trust him with my others pets as he doesn't exactly enjoy them one bit. I'm posting here about my T's...
haha omg ignore everything in those pictures except the tattoos, that's the best 3d angle i can get by myself. i'm not any good at taking self portraits with a camera!
Hey guys! This saturday is my 18th birthday, and I always wanted my first tattoo to be of a tarantula, wolf spider, or black widow. I saw some really nice tattoos of those online, I was wondering if anyone had any HIGH RES pictures of those three types of spiders? I wanted to get a tattoo of...
Boots was an avic, but he was the first avic I've owned. Im used to the pet rock kind of T's, so when I got Boots it was a wild ride. He was by far the most active out of any spider I owned- at night only. During the day he hid away at the top of the cage and blended in with the lid. The two...
Hey guys, as most of you know my tarantula Boots passed away from suspected old age. I called the pet shop to let them know it wasn't a pesticide or anything, and the shop owner was really nice about it. He told me he has some young T's in the back room if I ever want to stop by to take a look...
No, I think what happened was that he was having his spasm things and flipped over on accident, did the same thing yesterday upon entering his ICU.
Unfortunately guys, he just passed. Thanks for everyone trying to help out. I guess his old age just got to him, I feel like I'm out of tears...
ummmmm... Guys.. I went to go switch his ICU since he was looking pretty calm and I'm 80% sure he's molting in there.. he's on his back with his legs sticking straight up. Could this be dangerous for him in an ICU? I'm not about to bother him or anything but I do want to be ready for whatever...
I wouldn't say im an inexperienced tarantula owner, but I would say im an inexperienced male tarantula owner :p but im headed home now to check up on him. Ill post again in a few to let you guys know the verdict. Also about bring wild caught - the owner of the told me that they get all their...
I've had the plant for a while, can't remember where I got it from. Used it for another T until he outgrew his cage. After I took it out of the first T's cage I cleaned it and placed it in my cage full of tarantula supplies. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks an ICU should be tried first...
Eco Earth, same that I use for my two other tarantulas which are terrestrial. Not a live plant. The ventilation is good, even has a flap to open for extra ventilation.
This is by far the hardest decision I've ever made with one of my tarantulas. It's a shame that this has to happen to my first arboreal spider. He's such a cool little dude when he's relaxed. At night he freaking loves to walk around his cage. I'm not sure what to do guys. This is a tough one.
