You can also crank up the A/C and make it as cold as possible when you do it, that should hopefully slow it down some...

Without a scientific name or a decent picture, identification is going to be difficult if not impossible. Common names are usually worthless (I've decided that my G. rosea is henceforth a 'Chilean Birdeater' for example)... :D

Most pet stores sell a DIY Cobalt kit. Get a KK, fill it up about 2/3 with substrate, and poke a hole in the sub with your thumb. Presto! :D
