To my surprise!

I bought my G. rosea, Archer, back in March and he's been webbing a lot so, I thought he was settling in to molt. He was making an egg sac!!! HE'S A SHE!!! She's so proud standing above it. I'm pretty sure it's not live, but she looks so cute protecting it. <3
You'll have to be careful with that thought process. I'd treat it as if it is live, because if you assume it's not and it IS viable then you could very well wake up to tiny spiderlings all over the place, squeezing through the ventilation holes and such.

If you assume it's viable and it turns out to be a phantom sac then no harm no foul. The other option is messy.

@cold blood @EulersK @Venom1080 @14pokies have all dealt with breeding and egg sacs I'm pretty sure, they might have better advice for how you should proceed.

@cold blood Yea It's hard to see what's going on that pic.

OP

Post a better pic. If the T is W/C and hasn't molted while in captivity or was bred before you recieved it and hasn't molted it could be a viable sac.

youre gonna want to leave it with mom for like 45 days....then give it to someone......im probably 45 min from you just into WI.

@cold blood OK, I've heard 20-45 days, so it's good that you're confirming. You're not far at all then. The other guy I have is in Milwaukee. So, either or. :)

@Melanie

For really fast growing species 20 days would be fine...but for something growing and developing this slowly, I wouldn't pull it sooner than 45 days.
