I was wondering what this little thing is in the middle under where the carapace would be. It connects to in between the mouth parts and then comes out and it's like a leaf shape with two loves on each side. I don't think I've ever seen it on my other T's molts, but I'd imagine it's there.
Out of all my molts, I've only seen this once. I can only speculate. My money is on it being the anatomical equivalent of an esophagus. It probably just gets snapped off in most molts for obvious reasons.
I believe the two folds is the lining of they're sucking stomach, its attached by the cuticular lining of the pharynx. http://atshq.org/articles/Digestion.pdf
