my californian friend (not a T owner) sent me this photo, he found this guy out in nature. i’m not advanced enough at identifying species, anyone know what this is? (i’m guessing some very generic common species but it’d be nice to know more about it)
It's an Aphonopelma species, but which one is harder to nail down as mature males of several species look very similar. Depending on location could be A. steindachneri, A. iodius, or A. johnnycashi, to name a few. Looks most like A. johnnycashi to me anyways.
Awwww little aphonopelma dude looking for a gf , gl little dude ! He may be a little late , sure I was told male March stops in early October. for him though. @NMTs You get the male march don't you, isn't he a little late? It isn't something I know alot about just bits I have picked up here n there on here , pretty sure November must be on the edges tho.

In more temperate areas, where it has already gotten pretty cold (like where I am in north-central New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, northern Cali, etc.), the males have more or less stopped their wandering. In areas where it is still relatively warm, though, like Arizona, Nevada, parts of California, and Mexico, they will continue to roam looking for females until it gets colder - which could be into December.
