Always a nice day when I get to catch an eyeful. She's not defensive, but incredibly skittish. And webbed over her burrow so she can't hide in it. Of course.
Great photo, you don't see that many of this species. I wish they weren't so reclusive, or I'd have one. One of the nicest looking tarantulas out there.
@VanessaS Yeah, mine is broken and webbed over her burrow so she's out all the time. Guess I should consider myself lucky. Her favorite spot is the little corner to the upper left of this pic.
Absolutely agree, I think the Ephebopus genus as a whole is in my top 5 favorite NW genera. This species is so sleek and the contrast of the markings really gets my goat.
This was her when she arrived, around the 3" mark, so this should give you a good idea on what to expect! Awesome species, I personally wouldn't pass it up if you get the chance.
@Ungoliant Gave her about 4" in her current enclosure, she made a lovely burrow but for some reason ended up webbing it over and is out 24/7. Though I still plan on giving her a solid 6" at least when I rehouse her for her final enclosure.
