Two months ago, my father and I found this tarantula. However, I still don't know the specie nor the gender. I have pictures of the spider but my phone quality isn't good. My best guess of the specie is a Aphonopelma Aabeli and as a male. We found it in Southern Cali. Any ideas of what it is?
In what city or town did you find this fellow/gal? Pictures from above looking down would be helpful. It looks evenly black all over in this photograph. Is that true to life?
@Dovey I found him close to San Diego, CA. It was more in El Cajon area, which is somewhat close to the border. He's evenly dark brown. Before his molt he was more brown,but right after it he become very dark brown, but yes the color is evenly.
