This is stix, My Selenotypus Wallace, she doesn’t really borrow even though I made a nice hide for her but she’s very chill (edited cos I thought she was a plumipes at first)
Plumipes is supposed to have insanely thick and hairy back legs even for Selenotypus (pretty sure Plumipes literally means thick legs or something). Is it possible to get a photo from behind?
Hi! Beautiful girl you've got there . The scientific name is Selenotypus. plumipes Wallace, "plumipes" being the species and "Wallace" being the locale.
I've been told that "plumipes" refers to the Latin for plumage and the species was named that because of the abundance of hairs on the rear legs.
I have an adult female Selenotypus. plumipes Exevale, she used to burrow but hasn't since I brought her home and did a rehouse, I just realised today that I've been keeping her enclosure too moist and suspect that's the issue.
