Bought as an A. purpurea, but has gotten increasingly more red over time and has shown no signs of darkening. Help?
See carefully, an Avciularia sp. doesn't have those lines, and the color is much much different.
You’ve clearly never seen a juvenile Avic then, dude. They do as juveniles, which is what mine is. This is an Avicularia. Google search Avicularia sp. Ecuador and Avicularia sp. Colombia and you’ll see very similar results to mine.

The questioning on this specific individual was because I purchased him as a Avic purpurea— but he isn’t a true purpurea.
 
if you see closely on avic juvies, they got a red pigmentation on the CENTER, this one has It striped
 
hmmm, the Avis seem to have 4 rumps, very close to each other, and this one has 3 rumps more separated, but I don't know, I aint an expert
