Hello,
I was wondering if somone can help ID for me. The sign said Mexican Fire Leg but based on pictures on the internet, it looks like a red knee to me.
Looks like you scored a nice tarantula there! That would be a Brachypelma smithi, formerly annitha. Mexican Giant Orange Knee.

Do you know if it is male or female? Also how big is it?

Brachypelma smithi, it looks like a male to me but that is just my guess judging by its structure

Either B. hamorii or B. smithi. This picture alone is not conclusive enough to know which of the two you have. You're going to need more pictures to get a better idea.

Thank you. I fell in love at first sight. Not sure if its male or female. Is there an easy way to sex them? Id say about two inches in total length. The person at the store said it had been there 3 months.

This picture alone is not good enough to know if it's a B. smithi or B. hamorii. It's more than just brighter leg patterns that make it B. smithi.

Hi, I suppose its been a while. Aside from a few stragglers, all I own or owned are Brachypelma. I know what I'm looking at, for years, a decade plus five. I know the difference I've had them, I have them now. Small ones, barely any color and I know which is which. Experience, personal experience tells me I'm correct.

Cheers indeed.

Have you considered the Brachypelma revision by Mendoza and Francke? I've seen a ton of Brachypelma myself and one picture is not a sure fire way to know.

You can sex them by looking at a molt is best. Measurements are usually DLS diagonal leg span. Say left front leg to back right leg. Tip to tip.

If you're asking about age, its hard to tell without knowing the conditions it grew up in. Best bet is its at least 2 years old. Lol, could be way older no doubt. Just, probably not any younger.

I probably looked at it for a bit of light reading.

Bottom line is, im not budging man, not this one. Its an annitha!

Said about Pedro Sauer regarding knowledge of Jui Jitsu except me and Brachypelma knowledge.

I've forgotten more about Brachypelma than you'll know in a lifetime.

All you are really doing is confusing the OP.
