...because of his lust for brains! This is a 1/4" P. audax (I think) and a 1/2" cricket (at least!)

This was taken a few hours later - SAME cricket, dramatically shrunken, same spider, dramatically engorged. hah

Nice photos Katy! These guys don't mind taking prey much larger than themselves!
My new favorite thing to do is feed the jumper I have here with a pair of forceps hehe. Its quite fun watching them jump attack prey! :]

Thanks Chris! Yeah, they are a blast to keep and observe. Very cool critters.

Cute Jumper, Katy, and great pics! He looks a lot like mine, who i'm pretty sure is a P. audax. I think. They are indeed a very fun species to keep, i only wish they had longer lifespans.

Wow. Gorgeous. I have thought many times about housing jumping species.

Has anyone had any success keeping these communally?
it never works. i ad two temporarily housed with each other as i made enclosures and the one ate the other

I just caught a P. audax (I think) last night and tried feeding it a cricket, it was so cool to watch it slay this larger creature. How long do these guys live?

i know people who've had males live 1-2 years as captives.

Katy green, your spider is an immature male P. regius, not an audax.
