When I move in December I am going to get a 2 bedroom apartment/house/duplex just so that I can have a bug room. Its not a necessity because of the number of tarantulas, but because of the amout of roaches. I have 6 large bins, and 12 smaller ones. Those, along with the amout of books I have require another room.

When I get there, I plan to have shelves all along one wall for tarantulas, and a table in the middle of the room for a work bench. (I actually have an extra dining room table just for this.) My computer will probably be in there as well, along with my new microscope. :D

My room is pretty much based around keeping and studying arachnids and creating artwork in one form or another (plus a projecter screen and projector for those rare relaxing moments). The problem is, the hobby expands to fill the space available so getting a bigger house/room doesn't seem to help. I remember designing this room (it's a conversion from a garage) and thinking I'll never fill it. That lasted about 6 months. I am seriously thinking of extending upwards now..lol

Favorite equipment for the hobby:

-Assorted Spider hunting bags loaded with goodies
-Muller Trinocular scope
-Gerber multi tool
-Cannon and Sigma photography equipment.
-Cannon i9950 A3 printer
-Photoshop CS

Wow! Glen Southern that is quite the impressive setup. That is similar to the type of room that I would like to have set aside for my inverts one day. Right now, I'm stuck housing my scorps and T's in a small closet. Oh well, having something to shoot for is always good motivation. :)
Much respect on the setup though.

A bedroom with a bookshelf fits all the bugs listed in my profile.

Hmmmm...maybe I should post pics :)

I actually don't have that much room taken up by Spiders. It has changed alot since those photos but I am not what you would call an avid collector. I do alot more collect and release to be honest. I keep a few genus at a time. Right now I am studying a few Latrodectus and Steatoda and pretty much any of the Therididae. Not the worled most amazing creatures but fun to me. I have waited a long time to get a room like this. I planned it over 10 years ago and have always had a spare bedroom before moving here. I bought this house with the conversion in mind. I do a lot of sculpting (Digital and real-world) so I need a lot of space and this room is flexible for me. Plus every one knows a good range of PC's and Macs are a must have in a Boys room. (or girls for that matter)
