Yikes - look at your arm. Glad you convinced him he needed a manicure. Beautiful animal, what a looker!

I see you're holding his head in a way so that he can't bite. Are these guys pretty feisty, with big, sharp teeth? Excuse my ignorance, I honestly don't know anything about them, other than having seen one or two in pet shops.

Congrats on your new house-mate. :)

He's Definatly full of piss and vinegar, But not too bad...Once he's out of his enclosure he does just fine, its GETTING HIM out that proves to be the hard part....He does have some pretty knarly teeth, but I've not been tagged by him YET....Although I'm sure it will happen ::grumbles::

So how do you get him out of his enclosure? He's big, but is he also fast? I can only imagine that a finger would be a "tasty snack" if he every gets ya. Yikes! :D

It would take a while to rattle off the names of all of the guys that I've got so we'll make it kinda simple :p
30 T's
12 Scorps
1 Nile Monitor
1 High Pink albino Burmese 8'
4 Dogs (2 mine 2 my Fiance's)
1 large Tokay
and a couple other critters... LOL! THANK GOD for the colony of Roaches I've got going!

He's actucally chilled out a LOT~ Compared to what he WAS like...Still a bit on the grumpy side from time to time, but I get a kick out of him when he Eats...His Food Response is AMAZING, The MINUTE a Rat shows up in his Tank, It's Like WW4, And The Lizard ALWAYS wins...Kinda Like when the US goes, ONe way or another, We'll always Kick someone's Ass! It seems to me that he Likes to Squish the heads of the rats (kinda sick but it's amusing) and then he tries the Death Roll that Niles LOVE to do!

youve forgot to make your post 'bold'...

nice tatoo on the 2nd pic... just wondering why did you liked it on random positions? it makes you look like been on a nile monitor vs. human wrestling...

Makes it even better that he went out on a Trade for a couple scorps too....I normally dont keep them auround that long anyways...Unless they're calm and collected :)

If you take the time to handle him every day, including feeling down his fingers, toes, and tail, they can get to be pretty relaxed. I had a black-throat who was a six-foot lap lizard, he loved to be held so much. I understand nile monitors are a little more tempermental, but he might calm with time.

If I still had him I would, But the chance that he could be "tammed" Was FAR from good...
