I've read what I can on this species but would love to hear some first-hand knowledge and advice on the best way to take care of the Y. diversipes aka Amazon Sapphire. Not finding a huge amount out there and he/she arrives on Tuesday. I've got a small arboreal enclosure set up with a lot of ventilation (sides and top) and anchor points; the description is 1-2cm which is the size I got my C. versi at and he's thriving (has molted twice for me and growing nicely). Should I just be following the same rules...I've heard this species is just a bit more delicate than most as a sling.

And as they say, Tarantulas are like Pringles...can't just have one...so also have a P. sazamai, P. irminia and an Avic juruensis M2 coming with him. I'm a bit nervous about the two Ps as can be a bit defensive...but I've already learned a lot about Ts with my teleporting C. versi and my slow and easy T. albo

Y. diversipes care is no different than that of Avicularia or Caribena. Set them up the same way and you'll be fine - good ventilation for maximum airflow, dry substrate with a water dish for some humidity, vertical cork bark with foliage attached to it in the top 1/2 of the enclosure. Drip some water on the webbing every few days so it can drink, but don't overdo it. Don't clutter up the floor of the enclosure with moss, etc., so if a feeder happens to escape your T can still find it. Easy.

Great. Thanks. I kinda figured husbandry was mostly the same but didn't want to assume...just in case. I'm quite excited about getting this sling as they are stunning. I only have a small amount of space in my house so have to pick and choose which I want...and generally that comes down to display

They are very pretty. Mine will be close to 3" next time it molts, so they grow pretty quickly, as well. I've notice their webbing seems a lot more dense than Avic or Caribena, too.

Wow, that's a gorgeous photo. Definitely a lot of webbing going on there. My C. versi has built a tunnel/hammock but that's it...not a big webber so far...but still gorgeous and I love him.

It's a great species. They become less colorful as they grow, but still pretty. This was my male just before he matured:

This is really important to know for those are seduced by the colours. It would be a shame the keepers get bored because it does not mature into a rainbow.

The begining is definitely a treat. And this spider is more affordable then the T seladonia.

It takes a person with a good observing eye to appreciate the finer things. I am sold.

I have to agree with you, they are absolutely like Pringles, you cannot just have one or two. They have to be one of the most addictive things in this world LOL. I have had many in my lifetime. Right now I only have a dozen, but I see more in the future. LOL I have a list, I think we all have THAT list. WHAT WILL THE NEXT ONE BE??

I’ve found mine actually webbed less than my Avic of the same size. Dense canopy, but not much on the rest, whereas my A sp Columbia webbed the entire tiny box with tunnels. Also this one was more sensitive to cold than any of my other slings. Not a worry at this time of year, unless your home dips below 70 at night. Just my personal experience.
