I just got back from wondering some nature trails nearby scavenging for some enclosure building supplies. I've already contacted the city and been assured that they don't use any sort of pesticides or herbicides in this area, but my question is about the types of wood I found. I picked up some really interesting pieces of oak, but the coolest looking by far were some bois d arc limbs. I know that bois d arc is toxic to humans but I wasn't sure if it was safe to use in reptile or invert enclosures. Specifically a bearded dragon and bci boa, various tarantulas and scorpions. Also are the more decayed pieces suitable for milipedes? I wasn't sure exactly where to post the question due to the wide range of animals this pertains to, so i apologize if this is the wrong place.
