Do you think that widehorn hissers once established make good feeders for tarantulas? Looking to use the juveniles (about 1/2-1 inch) as a feeder for a single tarantula, and the really small ones for four to six whipspiders plus a tiger salamander. I have red runners right now but I want to exchange them for something else. Do not really want dubias as they play dead.

I usually feed them to larger tarantulas.

How fast do you think the wide horn hissers breed? I plan to put them on heat.

That I cannot easily give answer to, but unless you have both matured males and females ready, just see it as a long run breeding project.

The females in the colony I had were reproducing every three-four months I’d say. Like most species I’d imagine heating them would increase this rate.
How many young do they produce in one go? And do you think I should get 24 nymphs and two pairs to start off the colony?
