I have a big 5 inch G. Rosea, he hasn't ate in like a day. Anyways thats not the piont the crickets that I have in there are losing legs. Why are these crickets losing there legs .... I can't figure it out :?
The only thing crickets like to do more than drop legs is to die. Crickets are positioned solidly at the "A-hole" end of the lifeform spectrum, taking their cause so far as to sacrifice themselves in order to cause annoyance and unrest among humans. I suppose I'd do the same thing if in their place, so I don't blame them; I use roaches instead.
As for your G. rosea not eating for a day, I'd be worried, but my experience is limited. Others on this board should be able to give you an answer as to how serious this is. You might want to scour all the available reading material.
G rosea have a tendancy to fast especialy during molts.. othertimes cuss they want too.. longest I've heard is 8 months.. mines currently on its like 5 month of fasting as for loosing les ever heard of a lil thing caleld cannoblism when crickets lack the proteins and water they need they eat each other. and I doubt your G's Tank is set up for crickets? *rolls his eyes at some of the comments on this thread*
Sam,
Rose t's don't eat very often. If it does not eat in 12 hours or so, remove the crickets and don't add any more for a week or so. Is it fat?
Also remove dead cricket legs etc. The rosie might be getting stressed with the crickets in the cage.
