Why did my jumping spider die?

Hey everybody,
So little back story. I got these two sassacus vitus probably about a month ago. I’ve taken care of them both very well. They get water, fruit flies, etc. Today I found one of them dead. It looks like they died molting but honestly I am not sure. I took care of both of them in the same exact way. The other is fine and is well which is why I wonder why the other died. They both are extremely young, about the size of a large fruit fly. I understand sometimes mismolts happen and such but I was wondering if anybody had any advice. I want to prevent the death of the other one in case I did something wrong. Please let me know!

I'm not super experienced in jumpers, since I only have the one little one, but I can say that no one can say much without pictures of the setup and the spider. :) If you can, posting images will help a lot in getting answers on what could have happened.

Wrong forum- this is for TARANTULAS. Maybe you didn't read what was on your screen;)

if you have a photo i can tell you if its a mismolt or not, however

they may have simply been elderly, not molting, and passed away naturally. they are small jumpers who dont get very large. if they hadnt been molting in your care they may have already been mature.

I agree. The size of an adult Sassacus (in the most common species) is usually ≈ 5mm or less. Including vitus. To some it might be the size of a large fruit fly. Are you sure they are extremely young? Also, sorry for your loss! :(

Interesting because I actually read what was on the screen. He posted the question in a forum of "other spiders and arachnids" under "arachnopets" in under "forums" in a site called arachnoboards.

a Jumping spider does fall under "other spiders and arachnids"
a Jumping spider is also an arachnid
Arachnoboards are NOT just for tarantulas.

I think maybe you need to read what was on your screen and there was no reason to be so snarky. If you don't want to answer the question perhaps it's best to not say anything. You weren't interested in helping anyone only making a point that appears to be invalid. From what I can see this is a forum for other arachnids which excludes tarantulas. Did YOU read what was on your screen?

I believe one of the moderators may have moved it back to the correct subforum. I've seen them move other threads before when they were posted to the wrong subforum.

You’re absolutely wrong as you’re late to the party and have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about, zero, nada etc

Let’s educate you, and correct your erroneous assumption (your entire reply to me)

The post was originally under tarantulas. You are quite WRONG. Otherwise I wouldn’t have typed what I did, I see quite well:rolleyes:

The post was likely reported to the mods so they would move it to the proper forum. Though they do move posts without being alerted too.

I’m pretty sure I reported this one, but maybe not.

Reporting a post is helpful- by putting the post in the PROPER forum it will get better visibility by those interested in spiders, vs Ts.

As for the rest of your crap about reading and answering questions, you can flush it.

To use your ridiculous language that you gave me>>> Maybe it’s best YOU don’t reply until you know the FACTS:mooning:   :vomit:

Precisley!

Most jumpers need good ventilation. This let's the humidity dissapear slightly faster and needs to be sprayed more often (2-3times a week depending on your setup).

Besides that there isn't much you can do wrong. If it has food and watersprinkles to suck up, it should so fine.

Regards
