Of the four tarantulas that I currently own, all of which are still slings, I'm most looking forward to the Brachypelma albopilosum maturing. I also have Avicularia sp. Peru Purple, Brachypelma vegans, and Cyriocosums ritae,

You've got some nice animals there, and I don't downgrade a species just because they're common in the hobby. I've got a B. albopilosum and enjoy it as much as my others. (And your "Brachypelma vegans" isn't a vegan, it's Brachypelma vagans ;) ).

My B. vegans only eats carrots. Seriously.

I guess that was just a typo...I have it spelled correctly on my photo diary that I keep.

i LOVE my b. albppilosum as well... i got the lil machine as a freebie with my p. regalis purchase and the albo was about the size of a pencil eraser back on mar 5th and it is now about the size of a nickel and freakin stocky.... it has been a monster since the 1st time i fed it.... about a mid sized cricket. (keep in mond it was a pencil eraser size) it now eats every to every other day . i cant wait till it molts again as id like to see size change. i heard brachys are slow growers but not this one

Here's my spiders' current tarantualities:

A. sp. Peru Purple - Om mani padme hum
B. albopilosum - Hey man...wanna watch the big game? Get me a beer!
B. vagans - Stop looking at me. I'm gonna put my head in the dirt so you can't see me.
C. ritae - I got my eye on you...sucka!

I feel similarly! Got my B. albo sling as a freebie, but the little guy has really grown on me a lot. It's active, and an absolute monster when it comes to eating. Just looked in on it to check on its burrow progress, since I just transferred it to a new vial a few days ago...and, lo and behold, it has molted! It also molted in transit when I got it a month or so ago. It seems they grow faster than your average Brachy.

I have a similar sentiment re my Chaco. I have some fancy t's but just love her to bits. She's seven inches of cool, like the Fonze.
