So bananas can be hazardous to your health if handled improperly.

Yes it is. Marieke, Matthijs and the other folks in the house were glad the spider was going ;)

Lelle told me P. keyserlingi is synonim to P. nigriventer
Thats right. P boliviensis is also a alternative since thats the species that occur in centralamerica where most fruit plantations are located.

Hi,

guess Steven is right on the money.

Who says this is a Phoneutria, was the first question coming to my mind. A ctenid, yeah, most likely, a Phoneutria? Well, maybe, can´t be ruled out so far. However, there are literally tons of ctenid species, that have never been showed on pics before, so who knows...

Would help some to get some info about behaviour and source...

P. boliviensis can be ruled out from my opinion. I guess, some people won´t like this, but P. boliviensis is the only P. species that can be id´d with some accuracy by it´s drawings and outer-appearance.

Nevertheless, i´d advice you to watch out. Whatever it is, as stated before, Phoneutria spec. is still a possibility. Even if it´s not, most ctenid toxins are still to be discovered, so nobody can know for sure how dangerous their toxin can be to human kind.

Take care!

Greetings,

Stefan
