Yeah, exactly singoriensis! We name his South-russian tarantula (Южнорусский тарантул) :)

It not Lycosa singoriensis - the sizes do not allow to tell it. :embarrassed:
Who will tell - who it? :? :worship:

But what's wrong with the size of it?
The body size is 25-35 mm, and about 70-90 mm in legspan, isn't it?

Hi guys,
just a small remark....
Of a widespread specie there are usually many subspecies (variations in color and size) depending on the location.
For example, the colonies of L. singoriensis in North-east Austria looks very different then these in the Ukraine although both are L. singoriensis (unless a new thorough taxonomy of both spiders prove they are different species) but it seems that the Russian singoriensis has longer hairs then the European and the color is also different.
In addition, you cannot judge a specie upon it's size. Adult size vary a lot for invertebrates.
Seeing the magnificent photo's :worship: my first reaction is also... L. singoriensis.
Even in Europe the bodylength is 3.5 - 4cm making it the biggest spiderspecie in Europe (L. ingens with over 4cm bodylength not included because the Madeira archipel is geographically part of Africa).
However, a lycosid spider with 5cm bodylength would be really extraordinary.
I am just curious.. TPAKT, from which area in Moldova come the spider you took the pictures of....? and what was it's habitat (sitting in a burrow in the ground or just under stone or bark) ?
Are you able to catch more specimen?;)

Greetings,
Geert

Thanks for the info TPAKT :)
I try to find more info of lycosidae in Russia and surrounding countries. Maybe I discover more about the specie you found.
I'll share in in this thread.
