Which gender should I get if I do not wish to mate my scorpions.

I am thinking of keeping a scorpion that is not parthenogenetic, but I have no idea if I should get a female or male. Do males live shorter than female scorpion, just like tarantulas, do they also stop eating once reaching maturity or does it even matter at all. I do not plan to breed them, just keep them.

Generally speaking there is not much difference in lifespan between sexes.

Females of some species may take more molts to reach sexual maturity, and thus may live slightly longer (not too uncommon in many buthids). For other species, this is not the case, and there is no appreciable difference in lifespan.

If you want a scorpion that is not parthenogenetic, I would have thought a Male would pretty much guarantee that.
As Collin Clary says, not too much difference in life span, when some species can live for 20+ years.
