I bought 50 darkling beetles and I'm wondering if I should put in some coconut fiber for them to lay their eggs? Thanks

Yes some sort of substrate should be put in with them, as darkling beetles typically lay eggs in the substrate.

They do like to lay in substrate sometimes other beetles will eat those eggs though. I took a pieces of wood and drilled lots of little holes about 1/8" wide in it and they lay their eggs in the holes of the wood which is more like what they do in nature and the other beetles cant get to the eggs in the holes
