A ten gallon would be perfect for one leopard gecko (no sand! especially not calci-sand :embarrassed: ), or if you like snakes, a male sand boa would never outgrow a 10. You could also look into rubber boas, which are tiny, eat pinky mice all their lives, and are the only snake species I know of which can be kept in groups with no problems.

Male sand boas get to about 15-18 inches, females can get to about 28 and will need something better than a 10g. (Also note that despite the name "sand boa" they don't live on pure sand in the wild and it could kill them. Aspen shavings are the way to go.)

Rubber boas (http://www.rubberboas.com/Content/captivecare.html) vary from 18-26 inches based on regional subspecies and gender (females average bigger).

A fat frog of sorts, a nice Ceratophrys Ornata, or an aquatic setup for a Budgett's, or even a subadult pyxie. If not, a sand boa would be pretty rad. Good luck!

i have been thinkng about getting either a leopard or fat-tailed gecko for a while. Would a fat-tail be only in a 10 Gal.
you can put a fat tail in a 10 g. for life. there similar housing requirements to leopard geckos. same rules on how many you can house in a cage. (10 gallon for one plus 5 g for every other gecko.)

Ok thanks. What are the main differences between the two.
