Hello, again. I'm still a novice when it comes to jumping spiders and spiders as pets in general. I currently have 2 jumping spider slings. One is a regal jumper and the other is a gold colored sling that my app called a daring jumper or a bronze jumper (not sure how accurate the app is). Both of my slings currently eat hydei fruit flies. I have two more slings coming Wednesday (One is another regal and the other is a phidippus clarus) that are supposed to be okay with either melanogaster or hydei. My main question is, what do you feed a jumper sling that appears to be getting too big for fruit flies, but shows no interest in pin head crickets (so far) and appears to prefer food that can climb (my regal in particular? Are there any safe options for a slightly older sling in general other than fruit flies? Thanks again for your help.

Flies. Blue bottle, green bottle, house flies. Depending on size. Or dubia roaches. If you show the sling you’re not sure of, I can try to identify it for you.

Try flightless fruit flies. It is a pain getting them in the enclosure without them running away.

I found the little guy on a fence post and it looks golden to me. I had a hard time trying to get a decent picture. My bf finally got a few for me (2 with flash on and 1 without), but they are still a bit blurry. Also, I live in western NC. Thank you for your help.

It’s very blurry so this could be completely wrong, but from what I can see it looks perhaps like Pelegrina galathea, or a similar Pelegrina species.
But again, could be completely wrong because of the quality and angles.

It's in hiding right now. I there's a possibility it's getting ready to molt. I'll try to get better pictures whenever it comes out again.

I already use flightless fruit flies (currently hydei). I find putting them in the fridge until they stop moving around helps, but you still have to be quick with getting them where you want them before they start moving around again. I'm just trying find other options as my slings get bigger.
