What to feed N. americanus millipedes??

Can anyone tell me what to feed my millipedes my friend said apples and i put some apples in their enclosure but maybe their not hungry??? Also i put bananas in there with them anymore ideas or is this fine??

Hi

I feed mine squash. They go NUTS for squash. Butternut squash is even better. They eat cucumber as well but cucumber decomposes really fast so you have to remove it in a day tops. They like fish flakes, zuchinni and I have even given them romanie lettuce when I have nothing else to give them. A piece or rotten wood in their enclosure helps too. They love that.

they eat rotten wood and leaf litter in the wild. also will eat fresh foods but generally rotten wood and leaves. they are detriavoirs(sp) .

True. Thank you, I forgot to specify that. They mind diet is the substrate where I keep them which is rotten wood and leaf mulch. The rest I feed as supplements here and there.
